Tell us about your role at JNS Foods
I’m the Vice President of Analytics at JNS Foods, where I lead our data strategy with a focus on government contract bidding, particularly in the correctional food sector. My role blends market analysis, supplier coordination, and pricing strategy to help us secure contracts more efficiently and competitively. A big part of my work involves identifying trends in procurement data, streamlining workflows, and using predictive analytics to improve forecasting and decision-making.
What does a typical day look like to you?
A typical day starts with reviewing active bids and identifying high-impact opportunities. From there, I dig into pricing data, supplier quotes, and historical award trends to shape our strategy. I spend a lot of time refining our bid models and workflows to make sure we’re operating efficiently. Collaboration is also a key part of the day — whether it’s supporting the sales team, working through operational challenges, or helping prepare for upcoming supplier meetings. Every day brings a mix of data-driven focus and cross-functional problem-solving, which keeps the work both dynamic and fulfilling.
What’s been your favorite project or accomplishment at JNS?
One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is helping evolve our approach to bidding. When I started, the process leaned heavily on manual inputs and quick turnarounds. Over time, I helped shift us toward a more strategic and data-driven process — analyzing historical patterns, identifying pricing trends, and refining our internal tools. It’s been especially rewarding to see that mindset lead to stronger positioning and more competitive bids, particularly on complex state-level correctional contracts.
How has your role evolved since you started?
I started out focused primarily on executing bids and supporting pricing analysis. As I became more familiar with our processes and goals, I began taking on more strategic responsibilities — like refining our bid structure, analyzing award trends, and identifying ways to streamline workflows. Over time, that grew into a broader role where I now help shape overall strategy and support cross-functional decision-making. The promotion to Vice President of Analytics has allowed me to expand that impact even further, especially when it comes to long-term planning and developing scalable solutions.
What’s your favorite thing about working at JNS?
I really value the trust and autonomy I’ve been given. There’s space here to bring new ideas to the table, experiment with improvements, and see those ideas implemented. That kind of ownership isn’t something you find everywhere. I also enjoy the variety — each bid, supplier, and challenge is different, which keeps the work interesting and pushes me to keep learning and adapting.
How would you describe the culture at JNS Foods?
JNS has a fast-paced but supportive culture. It’s the kind of place where people wear multiple hats, and there’s a strong sense of ownership across the board. The team is tight-knit, experienced, and committed to doing things the right way — which creates an environment where hard work and initiative are genuinely valued. It’s collaborative without being overly formal, and that balance makes it a great place to grow and make an impact.
